June-Hao Hou is the Associate Professor and Director at the Graduate Institute of Architecture, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU, formerly NCTU), Taiwan. He received Doctor of Design (2006) and Master of Design Studies (1999) from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University. Dr. Hou pursued undergraduate study in the Department of Applied Mathematics (1988-1992) and received Master of Arts in Visual Communication (1996) at the Institute of Applied Arts, both from NCTU. He also developed professions in digital design media, computational design, and innovative IT applications in design and education. He was the technology advisor for the award-winning Orchid House Project by NCTU Team Unicode in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2014. He is currently one of the leading directors of a national Cultivating and Educational Project for Smart Living, a consultant for Smart City task force of Taipei and Hsinchu City, Taiwan. Dr. Hou is one of the faculty members of transArt NCTU, an avant-garde experimental art group, and a research faculty at the Transdisciplinary Design Innovation Studio (TDIS), NCTU.
